5 Steps to Reduce the Radiation You Are Exposed to Due to Mobile Phones

Bookmark and Share

There is a lot of talk at the moment about Mobile Phone radiation and how it has the potential to cause cancer. Even the World Health Organisation (WHO) came out a couple of weeks ago and calcified mobile phones as "possible carcinogen." This doesn't mean its been proven by any means, it is just WHO's way of saying we must do more research.

So I decided to share some of the methods that I have found for reducing the amount of radiation that you and your family are exposed too.

1. Don't put the mobile phone near your body: I know this sounds silly but it's the safest way. Even Apple for the iPhone 4 in its manual asks you to keep the phone at least 15mm away from you body.

There are many ways to keep the phone away from you body, the first ones are quite simple, use a hands free device or loud speaker. Hands free devices still emit radiation but not at the level of the phone itself. Some researchers believe that the wired hands free sets can be even worse due to the fact that they centralise the radiation right into the centre of the ear.

Other methods of separating yourself from the phone is by actually using text messages, the exposure to the radiation would be for such a short time when a text is sent compared to long phone calls. Finally its best to carry your mobile in your purse or backpack as it would be further from your body.

2. Keep conversations short: I know it sounds like another easy one, but the longer you are on the phone, the more at risk you are. When your ear gets very hot, and you find it really hard to keep the phone any longer on your ear, that is because of the radiation and the heat it emits.

3. Turn the phone off when your sleeping: if not completely off, put it in airplane mode. But if like me you always worry about an emergency phone call coming through the day you turn it off, keep the phone away from your bed side and make it far enough that you would have to get up to get the phone.

4. Avoid using your phone when there is a weak signal: when there is a weak signal your phone exerts more radiation to try and get a signal, and with that you actually are actually exposed to more radiation than if you were to have a quick call with full reception.

5. Use an EMR shield or radiation reduction device: Some people are saying these things are a bit of a scam, I would not touch the product if I had not seen the results myself. We have done testing in different conditions in different labs, and all though the 99% reduction is a slight exaggeration by the manufacturers, we have see up to 75% reductions in the radiation, and that is better than nothing

So these are my 5 tips to reduce your exposure to mobile phone radiation. Let me know if there are any other ideas that you come up with, or any research you have found.

Emil Khoury has been studying the area of mobile phone radiation for years now, trying to find the best products and advice for reducing the risk for the individuals and their families. From the research Emil founded Reduceradiation.com and has started selling the products to reduce the radiation for all mobile phone users.
