Specs for the highly anticipated Motorola DROID 2 have appeared online and it includes a Tegra 2 processor, 8-megapixel camera and a qHD display Published on May 10, 2011
The spec sheet for the up-and-coming Motorola DROID 2 has been published online. The device, according to the source, has some pretty impressive credentials and should be right up there with the Galaxy S2’s and HTC Sensations of the world.
The leak comes via Pocket Now who reports that the device is currently running on Android 2.2 but will be updated to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) for its release.
As we said, the spec sheet for the DROID 2 is pretty impressive. Inside you’ve got a 1GHz dual core Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip, an 8-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of ROM and a 4.3-inch qHD display.
Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n is also present, as is Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. HDMI-out will also feature on the handset, so you’ll be able to port content over to compatible TVS – always a nice touch. We just hope you do the same with games and use the device as a controller like you can on the Optimus 2X.
There’s also an ample 32GB of storage via the DROID 2’s microSD slot too, which, combined with the 8GB of internal ROM should be more than enough for most.
At present, there’s no word on a release date for the Motorola DROID 2 in the UK. Or, indeed, if we’ll actually get it – over here, the DROID series is called Milestone.
Nevertheless, reports have suggested that the device has turned up in Verizon’s system, which means a release is looking pretty imminent.
